Performance Psychology

Wellbeing and Performance

Performance psychology explores how accomplishing immediate goals can positively impact an individual's future state of wellbeing. The discipline emphasises the interconnectedness of performance and wellbeing, aiming to create a symbiotic cycle where success in one enhances the other. This integration fosters continual improvement and overall life satisfaction, helping individuals achieve sustained high performance and an enhanced quality of life.

Our Wellbeing & Performance Process

Our method utilises an interdisciplinary approach, which is a significant strength at Opus. We integrate various specialities within Opus to deliver a customised, optimised support and treatment package. The synergy between performance psychology and other disciplines is continuously refined through regular case conferences and informal interactions among our experienced team, adept across multiple disciplines, ensuring comprehensive attention to both performance and psychology.

Given the inseparable connection between performance and wellbeing, our clients are categorised into three distinct groups:

Wellbeing Enhancement Clients

These clients have issues identified by our medical and physiotherapy experts. They benefit from our focus on enhancing mental factors associated with both performance psychology and wellbeing.

Performance Optimisation Clients

These clients face challenges in their professional and personal lives that adversely affect their wellbeing. Addressing their performance inevitably involves tackling aspects of their wellbeing, underscoring the vital link between performance psychology and overall health.

Intergrated Approach Clients

This group reflects the intrinsic link between performance and wellbeing, though they may not initially recognise which aspect is predominant. This ambiguity necessitates a parallel treatment approach to both performance psychology and wellbeing.
